Occasionally it’s going to be hard to reason with your boys.
They don’t understand how finances or adult responsibilities work.
This means, you have to break things down for them in an easily easy manner. If you try to tell your small children that you can’t afford a particular luxury because you have lots of bills to pay, they don’t understand that. They have no concept of money whatsoever. This is why I decided their Mom had to tell them the bad news this time. Both of us were not going to be able to get them a puppy again this year. For the past 4 years our boys have been begging for us to get a current pet. As much as the lot of us would enjoy to get ourselves a current puppy or kitten, the two of us can’t afford it when our bi-weekly bills are so stupidly high. The boys have been at home for weeks now, which easily means we’ve had the central air conditioner idea running all the time. The central AC component sucks up a lot of energy which costs us a lot of additional money each week. Both of us can’t survive indoors without the huge cooling idea running the handle the heat as well as humidity from outdoors. When the boys started asking about a puppy again this year, I sternly told them that the two of us could get a cat… If they ever were willing to live without any indoor air control. As you can imagine, after only a few minutes of crying as well as slamming doors in protest… they opted for using the AC unit.
