A cold and rainy night

Last night it was pouring rain really bad, but it was coming down with such force that it was making a major racket on my roof and I had trouble sleeping because of this.

It also got really cold as well and this caused me to have to crank the central heating unit.

I usually have my thermostat set at 70 degrees because it usually does not get so cold this time of the year over here where I live. However, because of the rain I had to crank the control device up to 75 degrees! I am so grateful that this doesn’t happen every single day. Because the cost to run a central heating plan is pretty high if it runs all of the time, but where I used to live it was cold for several months of the year, and my energy bills were through the roof! This is part of why I decided to move where I did. Also, when I moved I ended up getting a brand modern HVAC system. The original central heating and air conditioning system that was in this house when I moved in was completely broken down and so old. The house itself was 80 years old. Because of the age of the home, that was a reason I was feeling uncomfortable about this big rain storm that we were having and how heavily it was hitting the roof. Thankfully in the end, no damage was done to the roof. I did not have to crank my central heating plan for the rest of the season. It was a one off thing.
