My family has always been very involved with our town’s building committee. Our town has not been very successful within these past few years when it comes to keeping local businesses alive and attracting new customers. Our town has worked close with the state and other local governments to increase foot traffic within our town. To combat this, the state has given a lot of the local businesses in our town grants to improve the outside and inside of their stores. I think this is a terrific start to continue the development and building the population within our town. One of the most effective grants that I think will help our town is a grant for the businesses to purchase heating and cooling systems. A lot of the businesses within our town have not had updated heating and cooling systems for probably almost 20 years. According to my local heating and cooling technician I have always heard that a heating and cooling system should be replaced or updated every 15 to 20 years. I am sure that there are businesses that have heating and cooling systems that exceed 20 years in age. For a business to have an effective heating and cooling system, this will allow them to not only save energy and money but it also allows customers to feel comfortable and happy while they’re shopping or eating. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been shopping at a store or eating at a restaurant and I am either sweating because i’m so hot or freezing because i’m so cold. A positive customer experience is one of the main reasons why customers keep coming back. And with that, a good heating and cooling system can certainly help the businesses within our town.
