A home gym

You know what I’ve never enjoyed doing? Working out.

Do you know why? Because I hate being around people and working out.

It’s not that I have a problem with exercising whatsoever. In fact I really enjoy working up a good sweat and getting some energy out. I am not at all opposed to getting sore and feeling like my body is exhausted. But, I really hate being around strangers who have similar goals. There’s nothing less appealing to me than going to a public gym and listening to other people groan while they lift heavy weights. I don’t like touching all the things other people have sweated on either. The entire thing is just gross and anxiety inducing to me. That’s why I’m so stoked to say that I finally built myself a home gym. It’s pretty basic right now, but the most important thing that I’m worried about is the air conditioning. AC, as far as I’m concerned, one of the biggest parts of getting a solid workout is having the right air temperature around you. If you’ve ever tried to go run outdoors and heat and humidity, you know that it feels like hell. My body tells me that I’m dying when I get that hot. I just can’t do it. I need some level of cool fresh air surrounding me in order to be able to keep pushing forward. That’s why I was really concerned about having my AC unit upgraded so it could service the new home gym effectively. When I talk to my HVAC technician, he told me that he thought I was better suited with a mini split ductless heating and cooling system in the gym, though. He said I would be able to control the heat and cooling power of this unit separate from the central HVAC system. I love the idea, and I love my new gym.
