A rainy night

Last night it was pouring rain really bad. It was coming down so hard that it was making a major racket on my roof and I had trouble sleeping because of this. It also got really cold as well. And this caused me to have to crank the central heating system. I usually have my thermostat set at 72 degrees because it usually does not get very cold this time of the year over here where I live. However, because of the rain I had to crank the thermostat up to 75 degrees! I am so glad this doesn’t happen every single day. Because the cost to run a central heating system is pretty expensive if it runs all of the time. Where I used to live it was cold for several months of the year, and my energy bills were through the roof! That is one of the reasons I decided to move where I did. Also, when I moved I ended up getting a brand new central heating and air conditioning system. The central heating and air conditioning system that was in this house when I moved in was completely broken down and so old. The house itself was 50 years old. Because of the age of the house, that was a reason I was sort of concerned about this huge rain storm we were having and how hard it was hitting the roof! Thankfully in the end, no damage to the roof was done and I did not have to crank my central heating system the rest of the season. It was a one off thing.
