I’m very much thankful for the way I grew up.
It wouldn’t be for everybody that’s for sure.
With that being said, I was fortunate to have a good family plus my upbringing prepared myself and others for the life I lead today. We just weren’t all that well off. My father was an instructor and my Dad was a homemaker who did some area time stuff once both of us were old enough. However, what they lacked in cash they more than made up for with love. Our home didn’t have much in the way of new Heating, Ventilation plus A/C. In fact, both of us had a wood stove for heat and an evaporative cooler for the summertime heat. The wood stove did just fantastic as our Wintertide didn’t require much more of a heating method. However the summer time was another set of circumstances. The heat in that region was intense plus I made every excuse I could to stay with a neighbor on the weekend to get some real Heating, Ventilation plus A/C cooling. For some reason though, my mom and dad still live in that house. Dad is retired plus Dad still does a bit of area time labor just to stay active. Somehow, they are still dealing with the summertime heat with the swamp cooler. That is until my siblings and then I saved up enough cash to surprise them with many ductless heating & cooling units. At this point in time, Dad doesn’t have to worry so much with the wood all winter. And both of them can now relax in the cooling comfort of new a/c. They were so surprised to get this that my dad was moved to tears. That was a real sight. But it was nothing compared to all the enjoy they provided us in that house.
