Air condensers

When you work in an office environment you always have to be aware of your coworkers that surround you.  When you live down South where the sun usually shines every day and the heat and humidity can make it hard to breath some days, you’re not even thinking about the cold or turning the heater on.  In my office, the air conditioning is always running. Most days we dress heavy and have jackets hanging on the back of our chairs because we never know exactly how cold it’s going to be inside. We were having a cold snap where we were actually getting down to the 40s-30s at night, which down here is really cold.  I walked into work one day during this cold snap and almost froze as soon as I walked in. They had neglected to switch the air conditioning over to the heating system before leaving the night before. When my manager came in and switched the thermostat over to the heater, it wouldn’t switch on. We sat there for a good 5 minutes playing with the thermostat before we realized that the heating system was not going to work.  It was getting colder and colder throughout the day. When our General Manager came in he called the HVAC company that services the HVAC system for our building and they arrived within the hour. I saw the two HVAC technicians out back looking at the air condensers for our building. Hours went by and we still had no heat. Everyone in the office was bundled up in their jackets and the portable heaters running to try and keep the office as warm as possible.  The only other warmth we could find was outside in the sun because luckily it was a beautiful sunny day.
