I have lived in my home for quite some time and I never noticed anything off.
Recently, I have been noticing a drastic lack of air flow from my trusty old air conditioner. It’s unusual because my Heating and Air Conditioning plan is supposed to be fine and relatively new, just a few years old. I haven’t observed any problems with the air handling units themselves- I’ve looked at a couple of how-to videos, I am by no means any sort of Heating and Air Conditioning serviceman. But to me, nothing absolutely seems to be wrong. I started studying on the frequently asked questions page of my Heating and Air Conditioning provider’s website and it definitely regularly mentioned air duct cleaning. Apparently, buildup of half a centimeter of dirt on my heating or cooling coil can decrease efficiency by 28%! I had never even absolutely heard about cleaning out the air ducts in this house, so it made sense. It also said that indoor air is far more polluted than outdoor air and remembering and having the air ducts cleaned properly can stop the buildup of awful mold and dust mites, gross! I called my Heating and Air Conditioning provider on the phone that afternoon and did an air duct cleaning for my home. The air ducts must have been the issue because there’s no doubt that this made the difference!
