Buying a lake house in the middle of a pandemic is kind of frightening! And yet, when the Bank closed, it was too late to back down.
Before all of us started moving all of our belongings into our current house, I very wanted to deliver the locale a wonderful cleaning.
We hired a professional cleaning service to clean down all of the surfaces and also do a deep cleaning on the carpet. We were just about to start moving when a buddy asked us if all of us had change the air filter in the a/c. We had not even thought of that. We purchased a HEPA filter to take care of any viruses that might be in the air but when I was decreasing the filter, I saw that the ductwork was super dirty. We decided to go ahead and hire a/c contractor to come out and scrub the ductwork for us. That should take care of any lingering viruses that might be hiding in the ventilation system. I am super happy all of us did too. It took us about a month to get everything super clean, but now all of us are finally ready to transport into our current home. I am not sad about it being full of germs now either, but everything has been cleaned: literally, top to bottom; Now all of us just need to figure out how to get all of our stuff moved from a single house to the other separate from a bunch of strangers touching it. That might mean moving it all ourselves. I am not looking forward to that but it’s better to be safe than sorry.
