Buying a house in the middle of a pandemic is kind of scary.
And yet, when the Bank closed, it was too late to back down.
Before we started moving all of our belongings into our new house, I really wanted to give the place a good cleaning. We hired a professional cleaning service to wipe down all of the surfaces and also do a deep cleaning on the carpet. We were just about to start moving when a friend asked us if we had change the air filter in the air conditioning system. We hadn’t even thought of that. We bought a HEPA filter to take care of any viruses that might be in the air but when I was changing the filter, I saw that the ductwork was super dirty. We decided to go ahead and hire air conditioning company to come out and clean the ductwork for us. That should take care of any lingering viruses that might be hiding in the ventilation system. I’m super glad we did too. It took us about a week to get everything super clean, but now we are finally ready to move into our new home. I’m not worried about it being full of germs now either. Everything has been cleaned: literally, top to bottom. Now we just need to figure out how to get all of our stuff moved from one home to the other without a bunch of strangers touching it. That might mean moving it all ourselves. I’m not looking forward to that but it’s better to be safe than sorry.
