Doesn’t take all that much to save money on HVAC

This past year has really been a redefining one for me.

The pandemic put so many things in such a different light.

From my health to our finances, I had to make some real, lasting changes in order to make sure I got through it. Staying at home in the air conditioning security of my home so much really forced me to address some important stuff. But one immediate concern had to be addressed as soon as the lock downs occurred. And that was reducing our spending. While my wife and I were lucky to be able to work our jobs from the HVAC comfort of home, we had to take pay cuts. This really revealed to me that it was time to get a lot more serious about making sure that our money went as far as possible. One of those spending targets was the HVAC utility costs. They can get steep around this part of the country and particularly during the summer. I wanted to be sure that I was doing all I could to hold the line on the HVAC cooling costs. And it wasn’t really all that tough to do. There are plenty of HVAC tips online that can help a person reduce their HVAC consumption. Essentially for us, it was all about making sure the house was tight, the direct sunlight heating was stopped and the thermostat setting was consistent. Once we got all of that in order, and it didn’t take all that much effort, we ended up saving more than 20 percent on our HVAC cooling costs. And that was over the entire blazing summer.
