Employee has a beer in the work van

I took over as the district supervisor for a particularly busy Heating as well as A/C repair supplier last week.

I’ve been with the same Heating as well as A/C repair supplier for 12 years now, plus I was previously a branch supervisor.

Being the district supervisor is a lot more difficult, because I have to deal with more concerns. Instead of dealing with 30 employees, I am responsible for the actions of nearly 300 employees. In our first week on the task, I had to deal with a particularly extreme issue. One of our Heating as well as A/C employees was pulled over plus ticketed for speeding. That is the type of circumstance that happens every once in a while, so that isn’ta particularly big deal. Employees are regularly in a hurry, plus these concerns occur from time to time. When the employee was ticketed for speeding, the officer smelled alcohol on his breath. The employee refused a breathalyzer test plus the cops decided to search our work van. The employee had 8 empty beer cans on the floor, plus 3 cold beers in the cooler. I don’t think how this employee got away with drinking on the task for so long, but I had to pick up the Heating as well as A/C work van from the impound lot. I had to spend our money $255 in fees to retrieve the property. I don’t think if this guy is going to do jail time or not, but I had to fire him effective instantly. All of us cannot have employees drinking on the task, plus both of us really cannot have employees drinking plus driving. I hope the guy gets some help, because he obviously has a problem.
