I can even control the thermostat from my house
My energy bill was crazy high last month. I received the statement in the mail and thought for sure it had to be a joke or a mistake. This was not the case. I called the HVAC company and they told me that sometimes if the energy bill is high it can be because a malfunctioning thermostat or AC unit. It has been very hot recently, but my energy bill has never been this high. I had the HVAC technician come out to repair my AC unit, because I realized it was a little out when it was running. He told me it was past due for repair, and that it would really be smart to just install a new AC unit. I was okay with this, because I really want an efficient heating and cooling system in my house. While he was at my house he also told me it was important to change the air filters so that the air would flow through and no debri would come out. And as he was leaving he checked my thermostat and said it was probably 15 years old, the newer systems have an option to turn off when nobody is home. I can even control the thermostat from my house. My heating and cooling bill has not been that high since the HVAC technician repaired my AC unit and thermostat. Now I know how important routine maintenance is for my AC unit. I didn’t realize how much heating and cooling systems can really affect an energy bill!
