I have been struggling with my finances for the last few months due to the global pandemic that is affecting every part of my life right now.
I was let go from my job because I work for an airline and most people don’t want to travel because they are trying to avoid getting sick, which I totally understand.
However, it’s been really hard to live without a job and I can’t just go get a job in a restaurant like I normally would if I got let go. Thankfully, I was able to save a good amount of money from work because I lived with my parents for a few years after I graduated from college. So I am able to keep my apartment and live off of my savings for now. Well, last week something unexpected happened and I was really bummed out. I woke up in the middle of the night and my HVAC system wasn’t working. I know that HVAC issues can be really expensive and I was worried that I would have to use a large portion of my savings to get it fixed. I am really thankful that my landlord was able to pay for my HVAC repairs because I saw the estimate and it was a couple of thousand dollars. I was shocked at how much the HVAC repair cost and I am so glad that I didn’t have to pay for any of it because my savings account would be wiped out!
