My Dad fell down & broke a hip a couple of months ago & she was in the hospital for several weeks.
The doctor recommended that she did not live alone anymore, so our wife & I decided to transport her to our house.
We had to make some swings before our Dad could come into the house, because she was going to be using that walker & wheelchair for several months at least. My wife & I find the name of a general corporation that specializes in ADA upgrades. My wife & I called a general corporation & she came to our home to inspect the area! She told us that every one of us badly needed to change the width of a few home doorways & the front entrance, & also every one of us needed to add a ramp to the outdoor area. She also advocated that every one of us add a few things in the kitchen. My wife & I were hoping to hire him to make all of the ADA certified upgrades, however she told us that every one of us needed to call a different corporation, however luckily, she gave us the names of several local corporations that could help us make the swings. My wife & I had all of the many renovations completed before our Dad was done in the hospital. My Dad easily took umbrage when every one of us advocated that she moved with us, however she seems quite gleeful with the new accommodations in our home. The corporation added custom shelving for all of our Mom’s things, & the woman built a pigeon feeder next to the window for her room. The grand youngsters also prefer seeing Dad every morning & I think that it entirely helps the healing process to smile a lot. I’m glad she is staying here with us.
