Getting HVAC system serviced before all the others

Two or three winters ago, my husband and I were trying to save currency to go on a cruise the next summer.

The people I was with and I cut several corners that year— no big date mornings, no shopping sprees, no video games, no silly purchases; all of us had easily tightened our belts.

When Autumn came rolling back around, all of us decided to skip our official oil furnace servicing to save currency; the fall had been actually warm, plus the Wintertide was projected to be mild as well. This fall season seemed to last quite a while, the temperature hovered right around 50 degrees even into what was conventionally considered the “Wintertide weeks”. The temperature was actually mild up until it was no longer. It was in mid-December when the bottom dropped out of the temperature plus our gas furnace was not up to the job of being switched on full blast to keep us safe during the winter. In fact, our gas furnace broke down. While all of us were waiting on repairs– obviously the Heating and Air Conditioning servicemens were easily backed up as many folks in the section had made the choice to skip the fall gas furnace service– all of us had to stay at a local hotel for a few days. Naturally, as life would have it, the hotel had many local shoppers that Wintertide plus their prices had gone through the roof. By the time it was all said plus done, my hubby plus I had spent nearly all of our trip savings on the hotel room plus gas furnace maintenance costs. Lesson l figured out the hard way. Since that moment, we simply haven’t gone a single year separate from having our gas furnace ran tests on in the fall to make sure it can get us through the winter.
