Got just the residential HVAC we wanted in the end

That night, he called offering thousands off the agreed upon price if we’d do the HVAC replacement

Buying a house was something that my wife and I had wanted to do for a very long time. The very idea of not having to deal with neighbors on all sides, poor heating and cooling and cramped quarters was super appealing. Yet, the reality of actually getting out of apartment life was much tougher than we expected when we were married. Both of us just figured we’d simply pool our money and that would be that. We’d get our own place with quality heating and air. We finally did get there but it was a more circuitous route than either of us expected. Just saving up for the downpayment was a pretty huge deal. The prices of homes just skyrocketed and the more we saved, the more it seemed we needed. This went on for a number of years while the price of homes just kept rising. Finally, we found the place that fit us so well, was in a great part of town and was affordable for us. There were things that the house needed and we were willing to deal with that. But the heating and cooling equipment was not acceptable. It was a central air conditioning system but it was just so old that I wasn’t so sure that there would be any heating and cooling. But the seller wouldn’t replace it. We got all the way to closing and he still refused so we walked away. That night, he called offering thousands off the agreed upon price if we’d do the HVAC replacement. We did and that’s how we got the best residential HVAC out there.
