I knew Grandpa was getting a bit senile, despite the fact that I couldn’t think him when she called the other day. She idly asked what I was doing and I told him I was just hanging around the home relaxing. She asked me if I could come over to the home for a couple hours. When I got there, she had the vacuum cleaner out and she asked if I would please clean the HVAC ducts for him. I vacuumed all of the HVAC ducts and I asked if there was anything else I could do. She wanted me to get a mirror and do a visual check of the air vents, especially those in the lavatory. I was scratching my head wondering what in the world had happened that she sad about the cleanliness of the air vents. She then asked if I would check the air filter in the furnace. I went downstairs and I tested the air filter. When I saw Grandpa’s teeth in there, I almost laughed. I pulled them out with a paper towel and I took them upstairs. I asked if this was what she was looking for. She made me promise not to tell my parents about him losing her teeth. She said she had been cleaning the furnace and the air vents and she knew she had lost them. She blamed it on them being loose. I laughed and told him that next she would be losing her house. She sat down and almost cried. She told me that maybe I should tell my parents about the teeth. She forgot how to get house the day before, after doing her shopping.
