I think that one of the smartest things I ever did was to take the job I was offered.

When I was offered the job, I was very hesitant about moving up north. I loved working for this company. I had been with them for ten years when they offered me the promotion. I had to relocate up north so I could open a new branch of our company. I was given almost double my normal wages and I was offered the management of that branch office at the end of the year, if all went well. I couldn’t refuse the offer, but I was worried about moving. I had only ever lived in the deep south. I knew how to handle the extreme heat of the south, but I never had any want to be in the snow and cold of the north. Our winters were like their summers. I liked my air conditioning, but I had no idea what to do with a furnace. AFter living up north for three months, I found that I loved spring. I had made it through the spring, and summer was here. I loved that I could throw open the windows and feel the breeze. It was like natural air conditioning that I didn’t need to pay for. I had a good HVAC system in my apartment, but I preferred the natural air conditioning. I still had to get through winter and the use of heating, but I didn’t care. I was already in love with this new world I was living in.
