Heat pump improved the sun room

When we first retired to the south, I was out of the air conditioning every chance I could make happen.

My wife and I were fortunate to be able to retire in our mid 50’s and leave a gas furnace winter time behind for sunlight and blue skies. That’s my sort of winter time so I was regularly out doing stuff. And once I figured out how to deal with the sort of summer time we have to endure, I was outside doing stuff then as well. For several weeks of the year, the weather is perfect and I was regularly so active. The several weeks of summer time pretty much required me to be inside the central air conditioning of our loft while we were in the peak heating hours of the morning. So I got up early to get outside and then headed back out in the evening. Being outside so much made me particularly question why in the world we needed a sunroom, but yet, that’s what my wife wanted and that’s what we did. Still, I thought it was dumb since it was basically unusable in the summer. And I wanted to be outside in it rather than inside looking out at it. However, my wife was spot on. Not only did it particularly open up our small retirement home, it’s become a go to spot for me as I hit my 70’s. My wife had the heating and air conditioning company come out and install a ductless heat pump inside the sunroom. This was so smart because we can enjoy the sunroom now during any season or anytime of the morning. And as I’m slowing down, I’m thankful for that air conditioning while I at least sort of feel like I’m outside.
