Last year, the HVAC technician who did our inspection, told us we would need a new furnace before winter began this year.
- He said that by the time he came back to do this year’s inspections, we could probably count on needing to purchase a new furnace.
For the entire year, my husband and I have been putting away all the extra money we could. We didn’t want to go into debt if we didn’t need to. When it seemed like we were ready to buy the furnace, we called the HVAC company. They sent a HVAC specialist out to talk to us about the proper heating system for our home. My husband and I had already made the decision that we wanted to have the same furnace as we had in the past. The furnace had always worked well for us, and it heated the house efficiently. It ran efficiently, and I never had a problem with my energy bills spiking too high in the winter. When the HVAC specialist arrived, he gave us a lot of options to think about. He discussed gas furnaces, and oil furnaces, and the newest boilers. We explained we were looking for the same type of furnace we had. He quickly did some calculations and told us they had the same make furnace in stock, only it was a new model. He showed us the cost of the furnace and installation, and they could have it installed within a week. I couldn’t believe how easy it was to make the purchase. We didn’t even need to go away from the house, and it cost much less than we had thought it would.
