I reminded him that it was the middle of winter so if he wanted to overheated his muscles, he could take an overheated bath
I don’t guess if you have ever been through a December that is so freezing that not even the overheated tub is hot, although I can tell you what it is like. There were times when I went outside and I expected the overheated tub surface to be a block of ice. I was going to turn the power off to the overheated tub, although I read online it wasn’t unbelievable for the liner and I genuinely needed to keep the tub full of water, however to keep the thermostat set so it wouldn’t freeze. This seemed okay until I got the energy bill. I had a difficult enough time paying to keep my oil furnace running and keeping us warm, let alone paying through the nose to keep an overheated tub overheated so I didn’t ruin the liner. I cared more about keeping my house heated, so I opted to run the oil furnace so the two of us were comfy inside the house. The next day, I turned off the heating system to the overheated tub and I emptied out the water. I then got on the online classified ads for our city and put the overheated tub in the newspaper for a reasonable price. When my son got house that night, he was mad at me for it. He had been working out in the gym and had planned to get into the overheated tub and let his muscles unwind. I reminded him that it was the middle of winter so if he wanted to overheated his muscles, he could take an overheated bath. When he started to get whiny about it, I held out my hand demanding a few bucks toward the energy bill. He was only sixteen so I already knew there was no way he wanted to help with the heating invoices each month. He went upstairs and turned the water on in the bathtub and also the thermostat in the bathroom.
