HVAC in the sunroom now makes sense

When we first retired to the south, I was out of the air conditioning every chance I could make that happen.

My wife and I were fortunate to be able to retire in our mid 50’s and leave a gas furnace winter behind for sunshine and blue skies.

That’s my sort of winter so I was always out doing stuff. And once I figured out how to deal with the sort of summer we have to endure, I was outside doing stuff then as well. For eight months of the year, the weather is perfect and I was always so active. The four months of summer pretty much required me to be inside the central air conditioning of our house during the peak heating hours of the day. So I got up early to get outside and then headed back out in the evening. Being outside so much made me really question why in the world we needed a sunroom. Yet, that’s what my wife wanted and that’s what we did. Still, I thought it was dumb since it was basically unusable in the summer. And I wanted to be outside in it rather than inside looking out at it. However, my wife was spot on. Not only did it really open up our small retirement home, it’s become a go to spot for me as I hit my 70’s. My wife had the HVAC company come out and install a ductless heat pump inside the sunroom. This was so smart because we can enjoy the sunroom now during any season or anytime of the day. And as I’m slowing down, I’m thankful for that air conditioning while I at least sort of feel like I’m outside.
