It completely amazes me the amount of things that I am oblivious to… I don’t actually know how I grew up without realizing particular things.
- I don’t actually believe it is because my parents didn’t try to teach myself and others these things.
I suppose it is just because I am a really horrible listener. It is terribly bad, and I need to change it. I still struggle with it to this very day. I have trouble focusing, and I struggle to really pay attention to anything that I am not interested in. One of the things that my father mentioned to myself and others a few years ago when I bought my air conditioner appliance was that I needed to change the air filter in it periodically. He said that he suggested we do it four times every year. I don’t actually remember him saying that which is extremely bad. I noticed that my air conditioner appliance was starting to put off an odor that I was not okay with, despite the fact that I had no idea why it was doing that. Every single time that I walked past my air conditioner equipment, the stench got stronger, so I knew that it was coming from the air conditioner equipment and not anywhere else. I asked my father why my air conditioner appliance would be putting off such a horrible odor, and he asked if I had changed the air filter recently. I informed him that I had never changed the air filter in my air conditioner, and he started laughing at me. He explained to myself and others how to change the air filter and told myself and others that it must be done regularly. He also reminded myself and others that he had already told myself and others that when I first got it. I truly need to learn to listen.
