When I was still active in school, I can remember how stressed out my parents were when it came to me.
I was never that interested in classes or sports, and my parents had no clue what I would do once I graduated. To be totally honest, I knew they figured that I would be flipping burgers at some fast food diner until I retired! Even though they had no idea in the least what job path I was going to take, I really did know what I wanted to do. Back in my freshman year I had seen an ad on cable about a Heating plus A/C device repair school that was now in town. When they were explaining a little about what the Heating plus A/C device field entails and how much money you can earn starting off in this field, I knew right then that it would fit me easily. I did not want to waste several precious years of my youth just sitting in a college class taking notes. I wanted to be out in the real world working with actual people, making real money! Now that I am pushing 40, I have been in this industry for a long period of time. I guess it’s clear to my parents that the path I chose was the right one for me. I have moved up the ranks from a Heating plus A/C device apprentice to a manager of one of the largest Heating plus A/C device companies in our country. Now that I have teenagers of my own, I don’t even worry about what I they’re going to do when they eventually grow up! Because if they’re anything like their father, they will have figured it out when they are ready to.
