I really hurt my leg last weekend when I was trying to help my mom clean out her attic.I guess it’s true that no good deed does ever go unpunished.
I was just trying to be nice by helping my mom but I ended up having some real problems when I was trying to carry stuff down from the upstairs.
See, my mom always wants to put everything away during the winter and even though I don’t blame her for that, it’s still annoying to have to drag everything in and out again. At the end of the winter last year, I helped her carry everything up into the attic, including her little electric space heater. She always has these portable space heating systems set up throughout her house during the winter when it’s cold outside. I don’t know why she feels the need to use them because she has a great high efficiency oil furnace installed in her house that heats it up really nicely most of the time. Anyway, needed or not, she still uses her electric space heaters every single year whenever the weather starts cooling off for the winter. And I am the one who had to pay the price for the fact that she uses these space heaters every year. I am the one who lugs them up to the attic every year and then back down again when the weather is cooling off. This year, the stupid space heater fell on me when I was coming down the attic steps and then I fell and hurt my leg because of it.
