One of the greatest feelings in the world is getting lost in an enjoyable book.
I have a nice fireplace that I like to get going when I study our books.
I have a truly comfortable couch as well. I don’t let anybody watch cable or play games in our room with the fireplace because I love nothing but the peace & quiet when I am studying. It feels great being able to escape from the worries of life for awhile & I can be gone for hours when studying the books, and the fireplace always keeps myself nice & comfortable & the crackling of the flames & the wood are truly relaxing! Occasionally, on the days when it is too moderate to use the fireplace, I will truly turn on the cooling system a little bit just so that I can still appreciate using our fireplace! I think that seems absurd, but I absolutely do appreciate our fireplace that much. I have even had our kids ask myself questions like why would I waste the a/c when I am using the fireplace at the same time. They think it’s basically the same as using a gas furnace & a/c at the same time which doesn’t make any sense to them. While it might be truly similar to that, it’s not the same. It allows myself time to appreciate the comforting feeling of the fireplace which I don’t necessarily get from the gas furnace! Perhaps one day when they get older & they have a nice fireplace of their own, they will do the same thing that I do.
