There is only two weeks out of the entire year, when I can turn off the HVAC system and open the windows.
The weather in my region is very warm and humid.
The air conditioner runs non-stop, especially during the summer months. During the months of July and August, sometimes I even have an extra air conditioner in the kitchen. The weather is truly one of the worst parts about living in this area. I grew up in the region, and I’ve never lived anywhere else. Even though it’s hot, humid, and filled with 12 inch bugs, it’s still home to me. I love those two weeks in the middle of March, when the temperatures are perfect to open the windows. My wife and I have a room full of windows that face the west. We open all the large windows and we usually try to air out the house. The airflow is significant, and the breeze is usually cool and relaxing. During this time, my wife and I usually try to perform maintenance on our HVAC system. We carefully clean all of the electrical and mechanical components of our HVAC system, and we also clean all of the air vents. This maintenance is the only time when we clean the unit, so we do our best to cover all the bases. My wife and I have watched a dozen different videos online, and we are experts at cleaning and maintaining our HVAC system. Sometimes we even help my Mom and Dad, when they perform the yearly HVAC tune-up too.
