Over the last couple years, my hubby had consistently been doing work to our gas furnace.
When the two of us first had it installed, it was just doing the service once a year & changing the air filters yearly.
Last year, the two of us had to have the Heating & A/C specialist come in because it needed a modern igniter. This year, they had to change out something that helped the fuel to get to the starter. Now the two of us need some other component that works with the motor. I guess actually little about the gas furnace, other than it has a lot of expletives for the parts. I also guess that furnaces are cursed & if you have to repair a single thing, you may as well save the cash for a modern gas furnace. My hubby said that is how things go with any appliance & he put the gas furnace in with the appliances. Once the warranty is up, you can be guaranteed that the appliance, or gas furnace in this case, will need to be removed & upgraded within a year. He almost gloated that he was right when the two of us called the Heating & A/C supplier for the third time, & he told us the two of us needed a modern gas furnace. I’m not even going to offer to help him choose the modern heating unit. I’m sure that he will choice the gas furnace that the two of us need to keep us comfortable, & then I won’t be blamed if it isn’t what he wanted. I did tell the Heating & A/C tech that I wanted great efficiencies & I wanted him to lean on my hubby about getting a boiler so I could have radiant heating in my lavatory.
