I Trust My HVAC Technician:

During my most recent HVAC service appointment, I had a spare minute to ask the technician a few questions.

I’ve been using the same HVAC technician for several years now, so I’ve built a great rapport with him.

He always answers my questions thoroughly and with patience, which I really value and appreciate. This time, my biggest concern was the air filter in my portable air purifier. I didn’t know when it was time to replace the air filter. I purchased the new air purifier a few months back, and was noticing the amount of dust and debri it was catching rather quickly. My condo didn’t have a great air purification system before, so I expected it to trap dust rather rapidly in the beginning. The HVAC professional said it was super important to keep an eye on the air filter in the air purifier, since it was storing a bunch of pollen, dirt, and dander. If I let the filter get too bad, it wouldn’t be purifying the air at all. After examining the purifier himself, he noted that it didn’t have a replacement warning setting, so I’d have to really pay attention. The HVAC professional recommended that I replace the air filter every 3 to 5 months based on the season. During the warmer months when my windows would be open and pollen was present, the air filter would accumulate more at a faster rate. This made a lot of sense to me, and I’m so glad I could talk to my HVAC professional with honesty.
