I was a teenaged Heating, Ventilation, & A/C serviceman.

It was kind of fun when I first started working with my dad.

She owned the local Heating, Ventilation, & A/C company & she would take me to labor whenever I wasn’t in college.

It seemed natural to go to homes with some Heating, Ventilation, & A/C techs & help them fix a gas furnace or air conditioning system unit, or to help them do the servicing. I was only sixteen when she allowed me to labor with them. I didn’t guess of myself as an apprentice. I was only thinking that I was getting paid to have fun. I couldn’t know it when some of her customers started calling me the teenage Heating, Ventilation, & A/C serviceman, then little did I think that while I was having fun, I was also studying a trade. Although I was too young to do little more than carry the tools & hand the guys some things, they were always showing me what they were doing. I had l acquired about the different tools. I knew which parts were for the gas furnace & which were for air conditioning system. I also knew how to run the machinery to scrub the air duct. When a single of the guys didn’t show up for labor a single day, I was asked to help install a ductless Heating, Ventilation, & A/C system. Another time, I got to help with the replacement of a radiant heat system. I had always told dad that I didn’t want to be in the family business. By the time I graduated from high college,, all I had to do was take the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C certification test, then i had found my work long before most guys my age knew what the word meant.
