I was at the wrong place at the wrong time

I started driving for Uber a few months ago.

  • Two of my friends were working for the car service and they were making $100 a day in 6 hours.

I didn’t want to put thousands of miles on my car, but the extra money sure came in hand when my laptop stopped working. Unfortunately, driving for Uber put me in the wrong place at the wrong time. I received a call to pick up a customer by the park. There was nothing ordinary about the call. I often go to the park to pick up people. On this particular night, I arrived around midnight and I found three men waiting for me. I was only picking up one person, but it’s not unusual to find out there are extra riders on the fly. As soon as we left the park, I had a police officer following me. When the cops flipped on the lights, I pulled over. The three men were wanted in connection with an armed robbery and now the cops think I was the getaway driver. I have to hire a criminal lawyer to get me out of trouble. I tried to explain my side of the story, but the police didn’t believe me. I had to post bail and I spent the night in jail. It was easily the most embarrassing experience of my life. I had to call my parents to pick me up. I’m scared and worried about the case, but thankfully, my parents found a great criminal lawyer. My parents used their car as collateral to secure my bond, but the criminal lawyer assured my parents that he will be able to help.
