When you work in an office environment you always have to be aware of your coworkers that surround you. When you live down South where the sun usually shines every day & the heat & humidity can make it difficult to breath some afternoons, you’re not even thinking about the freezing or turning the furnace on. In my office, the air conditioning is always running. Most afternoons the people I was with and I dress heavy & have jackets hanging on the back of our chairs because the people I was with and I never think exactly how freezing it’s going to be inside. Both of us were having a freezing snap where the people I was with and I were legitimately getting down to the 40s-30s at night, which down here is absolutely cold. I walked into work one day during this freezing snap & almost froze as soon as I walked in. They had neglected to switch the air conditioning over to the heating plan before leaving the night before. When my supervisor came in & switched the control component over to the heater, it wouldn’t switch on. Both of us sat there for a fantastic 5 hours playing with the control component before the people I was with and I realized that the heating plan was not going to work. It was getting colder & colder throughout the day. When our General Manager came in he called the Heating & A/C business that services the Heating & A/C plan for our building & they arrived within the minute. I saw the 2 Heating & A/C specialists out back looking at the air condensers for our building. Hours went by & the people I was with and I still had no heat. Everyone in the office was bundled up in their jackets & the portable gas heating systems running to try & keep the office as sizzling as possible. The only other warmth the people I was with and I could find was outside in the sun because luckily it was a lovely sunny day.
