I’m Having a Dehumidifier Connected to My Furnace

I had my furnace replaced last year, and it’s been working wonderfully.

My old furnace used to run all day, only to heat my home 10 degrees cooler than I programmed on the thermostat. As you can imagine, my utility bills were outrageous, and I grew tired of paying such an obscene amount of money to barely heat my home. Instead of throwing away money to the utility company, I decided to invest in a new furnace. The upfront cost was a lot more than I wanted to pay, but the HVAC technician said it would last at least 15 years. If I decided to move out of this house before then, the updated furnace would at least add value to the house. Although my new furnace has been working wonderfully, I’ve been having problems with the air quality. In this region, there is a lot of humidity during the winter, which makes everything feel cooler. I purchased a small dehumidifier for my bedroom, but I have to empty it almost everyday. I need something more practical. My HVAC technician suggested that I connect a dehumidifier to my furnace, which would eliminate all the extra moisture from the house while my furnace was running. I wouldn’t need to use any portable dehumidifiers anymore, because the one connected to the furnace would take care of it. The HVAC technician also said this would lower my utility bills even more, because my home would feel warmer without the moisture in the air. I can’t wait to have the dehumidfier installed!
