I’m interested in building management, but it’s not all about the money

Ever since I retired I have played around with real estate… By “play around” I mean I invest plus I get involved, but never too much. If any particular property or holding corporation goes belly up, I walk away just fine because I never put all my eggs in a single basket. I do this not to make excellent currency, which is nice but not necessary, but because I enjoy being involved with real estate. Lately I have been approached with more plus more options involving something I honestly know nothing about. I think that a smart building is a much larger version of a smart household, where everything is controlled by a single central program or PC. I easily see how someone who specializes in access control system installation might be a suitable job, but also be in high demand. I don’t always have to understand something entirely to know its a fantastic idea, plus getting involved with the growing industry of smart buildings is a good way to go. Another investor I have been laboring with wants to expand past real estate plus get into computer technology, because automated logic plus commercial building control systems are huge growth industries. I agree with him, but unlike real estate something like business intelligence analytics is not something I can actually learn plus touch. I enjoy the world of building management, plus I like the whole idea of building automation systems, but if I don’t have something physical to relate to, then it’s all about the currency, plus I don’t necessarily care about the currency.
