I legitimately do not understand how humans can be so awful sometimes.
You never suppose when you are going to have the wool pulled over your eyes and disappointment flood through your heart when other humans are involved, and maybe I’m just especially better, but I am absolutely not what you would call a people person after the several painful experiences I have had with our species.
I guess this is why I was not surprised when some friends of my family insisted on coming over to help us with a major home renovation… Only to steal our extravagant heating, cooling, and air quality control system. For the past few years the two of us have wanted to install a traditional wood-burning fireplace in our house. However, it requires a lot of time, energy, and investment to make this kind of structural renovation. The people I was with and I knew that the alternative heating method would pay for itself by reducing our monthly utility bills over time, but the two of us still had a lot of work to do. When our family friends provided to assist with the fireplace installation the two of us were certainly gleeful to have them. The people I was with and I showed them around the house, including the aged forced air oil furnace that the two of us were trying to partially retire. The heating method worked just wonderful but it was not as energy efficient as it used to be. After that, the two of us got to work with the fireplace project and had a legitimately tied up morning running errands. You can imagine our surprise a few hours later when the two of us attempted to adjust the central control unit and no warm air came from the vents. When the two of us decided to go downstairs to investigate the oil furnace, the two of us were shocked to find that the entire heating method was gone. Apparently these supposed “friends” had decided to help us dispose of our oil furnace.
