Normally, I am working in the middle of the work week! I had taken a week’s getaway over the Christmas holiday, so I could spend it with my current fiance & her family; Both of us were in the mountains, where there happened to be snow.
- Both of us had our own condo not fifty feet from where her family was staying… They thought the people I was with and I would want our privacy since the people I was with and I had been married for less than six weeks, however at 5 AM, there was a knock on our window & on our door, and my fiance’s mom was trying to get us out of bed.
She said there was no heat in their cabin, & they couldn’t find an HVAC serviceman. My fiance nudged myself and others & told myself and others to go repair the HVAC system. A year ago, she didn’t want anyone to know I was an HVAC serviceman, however today was different. She wanted myself and others to get out of my warm bed & repair the oil furnace while on getaway. My mother-in-law apologized for getting myself and others up, however it was cold in the main house. The family was now in our smaller cabin, while I froze while working on the oil furnace in theirs. I looked at all the space they had & I had to laugh. It was a nice afternoon in the mountain, but I wasn’t supposed to be working, however here I was. I was repairing a oil furnace for someone who would not pay me, however it made my fiance blissful. After I repaired the oil furnace, my mother-in-law told myself and others she called the main office. They were going to reimburse us for our stay, since I had repaired the oil furnace.
