It wasn’t fun when I lost my job, but it made me focus on finding something better

A little while back, I lost my job and I had to spend time trying to find something else. I ended up getting a part time job at a restaurant. While I was getting some money working, it wasn’t enough to cover everything at home. The energy bills were costly and our savings account was dwindling with the rising prices of food and gas. My wife said I had to get something better paying or work multiple jobs. So I ended up getting another part-time job, but I found myself feeling exhausted every single day. The other part time job I was working at was a local HVAC contractor. I was basically just working on the phones, but I found myself becoming more fascinated by HVAC technology. I answered questions as best as I could and I asked the HVAC professionals questions all the time. I learned a lot in a short period of time. Eventually, I not only worked the two part time jobs, but I took some night classes at an HVAC trade school to get my HVAC certification. I told my wife this was my plan to get back on my feet, by getting into the HVAC industry. Shortly after I was certified, I decided to give up the restaurant job. Honestly, that place had a lousy HVAC system anyway and I never felt comfortable there. Anyway, I became successful as an HVAC professional in the HVAC company and I started making more money than I used to make! I didn’t expect to find something better than what I had, but I’m sure thankful that I found such a great job.
