Make sure that during the summer you turn your furnace on once or twice just for a few minutes, to keep the system running. A lot of HVAC technicians won’t tell you this because it gives them more business come the winter. I think it’s unfair that HVAC technicians don’t really tell you how to take care of your HVAC equipment. I have a friend that is an HVAC technician and he says that he never tells people how to take care of their HVAC equipment. Overall you can certainly keep your furnace running all year long, and the same goes for your AC unit. You don’t have to pay a bunch of money for your HVAC system if you know what you’re doing with the system.
