Education is a toolbox, I believe.
But all the things you learn are the tools you fill it with.
When you approach education in this manner, meaning with a clear method in addition to an end goal, then it can be the most helpful thing in the whole world. The problem is that everyone doesn’t suppose the full breadth what they want to do after college, so they just cram random tools in the box for a few years in addition to seeing what happens. Not me, I knew exactly what I was going to do, right away, in addition to staying focused on the plan. Some of my friends laughed me off, as they quickly left for college, asking why I would want to be a certified Heating and Air Conditioning specialist. To them, that meant I would be driving all around in a panel van, tuning up the air conditionings for suburbanites, but they don’t see the much larger picture. They saw Heating and Air Conditioning workers as low level, although I saw them more as red collar scientists. While many of my friends got expensive degrees, they also incurred crippling college loan debt, while I paid my own way through the concentrated Heating and Air Conditioning program at the community college. Not only do I not currently have student loan debt, although I overachieved in my scores, in addition to landed a dedicated task working on the ventilation systems for a local laboratory. This arena is certainly immense, in addition to well funded, in addition to so high tech it was a single of the required sites they did COVID research, so the ventilation systems here are next level in the HVAC world. One of my friends, who mocked me for wanting to task in modern Heating and Air Conditioning, is now using his degree as a barista at Starbucks.
