Longer days when this new project begins

I work on a construction crew as a general contractor.

I started working here with a temporary service. I cleaned up construction sites all day, but the job paid well. When that project ended, the company offered me a full time position. Spring and fall are the busiest times of the year, because people like to remodel and plan construction projects during that time. I’ve been working 50 hours a week for the past six months. I haven’t been home for dinner since February, and the days are going to be even longer when a new project begins. Several of my co-workers and I are going to the other side of the state to construct an office building. My co-workers and I will be staying in a hotel for the duration of the project. I’m looking forward to the hotel stay, because that particular place has a really nice spa and fitness center. My apartment sucks and I always look forward to construction projects that get me out of the area. The entire construction job is supposed to last 3 months. The last time my coworkers and I went to an out of town job, we were in a hotel right next to a marijuana dispensary. Even though we are not supposed to use marijuana at all, we still tried some new things that week. I couldn’t pass up the edible marijuana brownies. They had layers of thick caramel and peanut butter. I couldn’t even taste the weed. I slept hard, but I got the job done the next day with no problem at all.
