Loud rainstorm keeps me awake

Because the cost to run a central heating system is pretty costly if it runs all of the time, and where I used to live it was freezing for several months of the year, and our energy costs were through the roof! That is one of the reasons I decided to transfer where I did.

Last night rain was pounding on my roof. It was coming down so hard that it could have been hailing and I had trouble sleeping because of this. It also got absolutely freezing as well! And this caused me to have to crank the central heating unit. I usually have our thermostat set at 72 degrees because it usually does not get absolutely freezing this time of the year over here where I live. However, because of the rain I had to crank the thermostat up to 77 degrees! I am so glad this doesn’t happen every single day. Because the cost to run a central heating system is pretty costly if it runs all of the time, and where I used to live it was freezing for several months of the year, and our energy costs were through the roof! That is one of the reasons I decided to transfer where I did. Also, when I moved I ended up getting a brand new central heating and a/c unit, but the whole heating and cooling system that was in this house when I moved in was completely broken down and very old. The house itself was 85 years old. Because of the age of the house, I was concerned about this large rain storm that my wife and I were having and how hard it was hitting our roof! Thankfully in the end, no damage to the roof was done and I did not have to crank our central heating system the rest of the season. It was a one off thing.
