Me and my boyfriend used to fight about the thermostat

He reasoned that the air circulation from the fan would cause it to feel a few degrees cooler without actually changing the thermostat

My boyfriend and I fight about many things. They’re not big fights, but we always seem to be quarreling about something or another, as if it was our pastime. Now that we’re living together, we fight even more. For example, he can’t stand when I take food from his plate, and I can’t stand when he leaves his dirty socks all over the place. One of the biggest arguments that we had recently concerned the thermostat, as it often does in relationships. I prefer things on the cooler side and he prefers things on the warmer side. Specifically, I prefer a temperature of 72° at the very most and he prefers a temperature of at least 76°. We are particularly keen on setting our preferred temperatures in the evening when it’s time to sleep. For a while, I would set the temperature to 72° before I went to bed and he would get up and change the temperature to 76° after I fell asleep. I was sick of this little routine of his, so I confronted him about it. Rather than deny that he was changing the temperature on the thermostat in the middle of the night, he gave me a solution to the problem. He decided to buy me a tower fan for my side of the bed. He reasoned that the air circulation from the fan would cause it to feel a few degrees cooler without actually changing the thermostat. I decided to try this, and I have to admit that I slept quite comfortably after we started using the tower fan. Well, I guess my boyfriend got his way on this one!
