I could not believe it when the other day I was using my fireplace and found that the flames were going way out of control! I am not sure what happened or why.
But the flames from the fireplace were coming out into the living room.
I had to put out the fireplace right away before it hit something and caught the rug or something else on fire and burned down my house! It was a real scary thing and almost caused the biggest problem I think I ever experienced with my fireplace. I have had this fireplace for several years and this is the very first time something like this ever had happened. I called a fireplace professional to check things out to see what was going on with the fireplace. According to what they told me after looking into it, it was because I used a certain type of firewood that causes the fire to go a bit wild. I did not know anything about this. They explained to me about the firewood and I know now not to get this kind ever again for my fireplace. It was a pretty close call. Had I not been right in front of the fireplace when this happened I probably would have had a serious accident which could have set my entire home on fire! But now that I know that the firewood I used was not good for my fireplace, I will not make the same mistake again and keep better control of my fireplace and the wood that I use.
