My husband thinks he’s a real big handyman.
I’ll admit that he’s at least more mechanically inclined than I am.
In fact, he does simple tasks around the house rather well. This would be perfectly fine were it not for the fact that he thinks he also has the know how to tackle the bigger stuff best left to the professionals. There have been times when he has caused bigger problems with the plumbing than the original problem in question. There have been other times when he has outright broken our washing machine or other such appliances while trying to “fix” them. I am quite thankful that he has yet to root around in the climate control unit enough to cause any major mishaps. Those are the times that I insist that we call a technician out, because heating and air conditioning is something I most certainly do not want to do without just because my husband thinks that he can handle it! Thankfully, we have such a good HVAC company on our side that even he admits that they get the job done way better than him! Sometimes, he will try to look over the HVAC technician’s shoulder as if he could absorb what was going on enough to take care of the problem himself the next time. Still, our HVAC company’s prices are quite moderate for the great work that they do, so he is most often content to let them do their thing. I’m quite thankful for that, because if there’s one amenity that I enjoy the most in my house, its climate control!
