Last week, my mom’s air conditioning system tore up and she called one of the local HVAC companies to have them come out to fix it. Of course, she’s always on the lookout for someone for me to date and this was no exception. As soon as the HVAC truck pulled up, I know for a fact that she was at the door peeking out to see what the driver looked like. It turned out that the HVAC technician that they had sent to her house to fix the A/C was actually really nice and really good looking. My mom let him and took him down to the furnace room in the basement so he could get started on fixing her air conditioning system. Then she came right back upstairs and called me to tell me to come over. She said that it was an emergency and then she hung up! Of course, I jumped in the car and ran over there as fast as I could. Imagine my surprise when I got there and everything was fine. I saw the HVAC truck in the driveway and before I even got in the house, I figured out that she probably had some sort of matchmaking scheme up her sleeve. That’s just how my mom is. Before I started yelling at her to mind her own business, though, I spied on the HVAC technician in the basement. He really was cute, and so I finally relented and let my mom try and set us up. We’re having dinner together this weekend, so we will see how it goes!
