When I was growing up I had awful asthma attacks a lot, then neither of our parents has asthma, so they did not think what to do. It was all a studying process for them. Some of our early years were pretty difficult for them plus me. But it was not in vain, because more than 2 years later I now find out that our child has asthma, just like me. I have been able to use the lessons that our parents l earned the hard way. As soon as she started showing symptoms, I called an HVAC supplier plus had them clean our air ducts, however duct cleaning was important for our asthma growing up. I change our air-conditioning filters all the time too. One of the main things that helps is having a HEPA filter. To any parents of children with asthma I cannot advocate these enough. On top of this I have another whole house air cleaner. This may seem like overkill to some people, but our child has legitimately serious asthma, just like I did. It is best in such cases to ensure as little contaminants as possible are in the air. I also keep a dehumidifier handy, just in case the two of us need it. All of this may seem overpriced, but it is less overpriced than a trip to the hospital, plus less horrifying! Growing up, our parents had to take myself and others to the hospital for asthma attacks in the middle of the night a few times. They were legitimately horrifying to myself and others when I was a kid, plus even as I got older!
