My parents’ anniversary is coming up next month, and it’s a pretty big one. I thought about it for a long time and I finally have a great gift idea for them. I didn’t want to do a regular old gift card or a weekend trip or anything like that, though. I wanted to have something done for them that I knew they would really love and use on a regular basis. My sister and I decided to team up on the gift since it was so expensive. We decided to have radiant heated flooring installed in my parents’ house, along with a new high efficiency air conditioning system! My parents have been living in the same house ever since they got married and they have never had enough money to do all of the upkeep on the place that it really needs. My sister and I have noticed how they are always cold in the wintertime and they usually complain about their freezing cold feet. That’s when the idea hit me for this particular anniversary gift. In other words, I’ve been thinking about it since last winter. I knew that it was going to take a whole lot of planning, especially if we were going to surprise them! My sister gave them a weekend away, too, and while they were gone, we had the HVAC technicians come to their house and do all of the heating and cooling system installations. It was a huge job, and so they had a big team of people come out to work on the project. They all knew the deal and that they had to be done with the radiant heated flooring and A/C installation in just two short days, but they did it and my parents absolutely loved their gift!
