My sister is forcing me to hire her son

Five years ago, my sister got married.

Her husband already had two kids and they lived with my sister full time.

The boys were 13 and 15 at the time, and they didn’t respect my sister at all. They gave her grief at every turn and never listened to her. Timothy and Charlie were in trouble at school and at home. When the oldest boy just finished trade school, my sister wanted me to give him a job. He went to trade school for heating and air conditioning repair. I have a heating and air conditioning repair company of my own, and I worked very hard to make the company a success. I saw how much my sister struggled with the boys, and I didn’t want to deal with any of that drama. My sister begged and begged, especially when Charlie couldn’t find a job anywhere. I met with Charlie to discuss the job, and he was polite, sincere, and very well trained. He answered all of my heating and air conditioning questions without blinking an eye. He was clearly paying attention in school, and that made me sit up and give him my time. I wasn’t completely sure that Charlie would work out, but I decided to give him a job. Charlie’s been working at the heating and air conditioning repair company for six months, and he is probably my best employee. He works very hard and is detail-oriented. Most of his repairs take longer than others, but I’ve never had a single customer complaint. Maybe Charlie has grown up in the last 5 years.
