There have been people living on this continent for hundreds of years! Somehow they managed to bear the incredible heat & humidity without using technology care about an air conditioner.
- There are still a lot of ways to stay cool, however our kids cannot think of anything.
Io took the air conditioner out of the room last month, when they decided to cut the garage window; Until they earn enough money to pay for the garage window, they cannot have air conditioner. It seems extreme to some people, & some of our friends & fellow parents think I’m crazy. Still, I told our kids a hundred times to stop playing baseball in the back street parking lot. There is only about more than nine feet of room between the cars, the driveway, garage, & the neighbors house, however when the kids were home that morning, they could have went across the street to the park. Instead, they decided to play ball in the street, now the garage window is broken & our partner & I are out $168 to repair it. My kids only have $57 between them, & I told them that they have to earn money to pay the rest of the bill. Until they labor out a way to pay the money, I have the living room air conditioner in our living room. A lot of people think this is crazy, however I’m not opposed to some strange forms of punishment, believe me, our kids are much more aggravated about the air conditioner then any other “normal” punishment the more than one of us could have given them.
